The Thermo Scientific Pierce Secondary Antibodies featured here are affinity-purified polyclonal antibodies with well-characterized specificity for chicken immunoglobulin (IgY). Each antibody is affinity-purified using its target antigen (i.e., the target chicken primary antibody) coupled to an agarose support. Affinity purification eliminates nonspecific antibodies, resulting in high specificity and low background. The purification process involves an elution procedure, that yields antibodies with high avidity. Conjugated antibodies are affinity-purified before being labeled and contain bovine serum albumin as a stabilizer.
